The Olfex Standard

We don't rely on seller claims alone. Every bottle that sells through Olfex is received by us, inspected against the listing, and verified for authenticity signals, condition, and fill level before we ship it to the buyer. One consistent standard so buyers can trust what they see, and sellers are held to the same bar.

How Authentication Works

Seller account and listing meet our standards before the item is listed.

Listings use required photos and fill-level category so buyers know what to expect.

Buyer pays; funds are held securely until the item passes verification.

Seller ships to Olfex

Seller ships the bottle to our facility using the provided label.

Inbound inspection (leak/atomizer/packaging)

We check for leaks, atomizer function, and that packaging matches the listing.

Authenticity verification (batch code + presentation checks)

Batch code, label alignment, fonts, and presentation are checked against known signals.

Fill level verification (category match)

Fill level is verified to match the listed category (e.g. 95–100%, 90–95%).

Repack + ship to buyer (payout released)

Item is repacked and shipped to the buyer; seller payout is released.

Typical processing: 1–3 business days after arrival.

  • No signs of refill or tampering at cap or nozzle
  • Condition of bottle (scratches, chips) noted
  • Batch code present and legible
  • Format and placement consistent with brand norms
  • No obvious mismatches vs. packaging batch
  • Country of manufacture / origin markings where applicable
  • Visible fill level matched to listed category
  • No significant oxidation or color change vs. expected
  • Spray mechanism tested
  • Leak check on arrival
  • Box condition and consistency with listing
  • Insert materials (booklet, card) where expected
  • Cellophane / seal cues where applicable
  • Any extras (sample, pouch) match listing

Note: We do not perform lab-grade chemical testing of the liquid. Our checks are designed to catch counterfeits and misrepresentation using observable signals.

If Something Fails

Fail Authentication

Order is canceled and buyer is refunded. The item is returned to the seller or handled per policy if needed.

Mismatch or misrepresentation

If fill level or condition doesn't match the listing, the buyer can accept an adjusted price or cancel.

Repeat offenders

Accounts may be suspended for repeated misrepresentation or suspected counterfeit activity.

Buyer Protection

When you buy through Olfex, your payment is held until the item passes our verification. If it doesn't, you're covered.

Box is not required for all listings, but it affects condition tier and buyer expectations. List accurately; we verify that the item matches what you listed.
We don't perform lab-grade chemical analysis. Our process is designed to catch counterfeits and misrepresentation using observable signals—batch codes, presentation, packaging, and consistency checks. We're transparent about that.
We use defined fill-level categories (e.g. 95–100%, 90–95%). Inbound inspection includes a visual check against the category you listed. If it doesn't match, we'll flag it before shipping to the buyer.
